A good slicing plant does not only rely on beet slicers but also on knife maintenance machines. Maguin offers a large range of machines to be selected according to the factory capacity and the labour costs:
The manual machines require the constant presence of an operator to feed the knives to each machine.
With automatic machines, a complete slicing plant needs only one operator per shift for capacities up to 15,000 t/d according to the knife wear.
Maguin offers a complete knife preparation station including knife block washing tank (water and air).
Manual machines enable rates of 80 to 100 knives/hour for straightening and grinding machines and of 30 to 50 knives/hour for semi-automatic rough or fine sharpening machines according to the operator’s dexterity.
With automatic machines, rates can reach more than 200 knives/hour for straightening/grinding, 40 knives/hour for rough sharpening and 60 knives/hour for fine sharpening.
