To get good quality beet cossettes, it is necessary to use MAGUIN beet slicers, knives and fraisers (milling tools).
Knives and fraisers are manufactured by our subsidiary K-Maguin in a specialized and automated plant at the historical site in CHARMES. Indeed, this was Maguin’s original activity.
Maguin started manufacturing knives and fraisers in the middle of the XIXth century which shows the extent of our experience in this field.
Since then, Maguin has been involved in a policy of continuous development both in the choice of raw materials and in their production process, in order to supply knives and fraisers at best technical and commercial conditions.
The quality of the Maguin knives and fraisers results from a manufacturing process in which each step is strictly controlled. Their main and consistent characteristics are: precise geometry, suitable and homogeneous hardness, proper steel choice. These criteria produce the best balance between shock and wear resistance.
This quality is internationally recognised, as K-Maguin knives and fraisers are used in every country in the world, for all types of beets (ordinary, fibrous, deteriorated…). They are particularly appreciated with frozen beets.
An extended range of knives and fraisers is available either with standard characteristics to fit all standard knife maintenance machines and slicers (even for Russian and Ukrainian standards), or adapted to the customer’s needs for a special use.
MAGUIN also provides services for knife and fraiser maintenance. This maintenance can be externalised to Maguin during the beet campaign. A shuttle system is set up between the sugar factory and Maguin in which the worn knives and fraisers are received, repaired and sent back to the customer. This process can be proposed and studied on a case by case basis.
