Lime kiln

Maguin’s kiln technology (originally that of Four Delot International FDI) uses a vertical kiln with a single shaft, and Maguin can take pride in having more than 100 kiln references, to which can be added numerous repairs or modifications to existing kilns.

The Maguin kilns can use all types of combustibles but their design is adapted according to the nature of the combustible chosen (solid, liquid, gaseous).

With solid combustibles, two types of kilns can be used:

  • the “vacuum” kiln (negative pressure inside the kiln). The great advantage of this solution is its lower price. It is widely used.
  • the “blown” kiln (positive pressure inside the kiln). This technology enables a higher CO2 content to be reached and makes the operation easier.

Maguin offers a standard range of kilns characterized by their nominal lime production capacity, going from the FC15 kiln for a nominal CaO production of 15t/day to the FC400 for a CaO production of 400t/day. Greater unit sizes can be designed whatever combustible is used.

With coke and anthracite used as combustible, the CO2 content in the outlet gas is approximately 40% and 30% for gas or oil kilns.

Due to the simplicity and efficiency of its design, the MAGUIN range truly differentiates from others:

  • quality of the load preparation with constant and easy adjustment of the combustible / stones mix
  • excellent tightness ensured by a upper and a lower chamber
  • rotary feeding hopper which guarantees that the load is well distributed with no combustible segregation between stones and combustible or between stones of different sizes
  • homogenous and well controlled load transfer
  • adaptable operation rate
  • low production cost (the combustible consumption and the unburnt rate are low)
  • high quality lime production
  • very little impact on the environment
  • automatic operation with control based on the consumption of the milk of lime station

Maguin offers complete installations with milk of lime or hydrated lime preparation station, individual equipment or complete or partial repairs of existing kiln parts after an audit made by our specialists. This audit may include a complete report on the juice purification station.
